Home birthing story brings back memories

Posted

Thanks so much for the wonderful story about home birthing in the May 27 issue of The Reflector. It made me remember so deeply and lovingly the births of my own children (ages 44, 43, 35 and 26) at home and with me helping catch these incredible individuals.

I am so glad that the statistics speak so clearly to the facts of safety for both the mom and for the babies. Being at home with the family was magical and indeed each new baby felt as though they were immediately part of the family and got into the groove.

Our midwives were very attentive and never seemed rushed to get out to a golf date. In my entire life I have never had a more spiritual experience than being part of the birth and then holding this new being that seems to come straight from the heart of the One.
