Battle Ground Public Schools bond: vote no

Posted

2.2 Million dollars has already been spent, using “Non-Voted Imposed Impact Fees,” used to purchase property for the proposed new primary and middle schools, located on the westside of NE 152nd Ave., somewhere between NE 110th St. and “NE 99th St.” which is the southern boundary of the Battle Ground School District.

Was this property purchased to extend the southern boundary, encroaching on the Evergreen School District? Possible scam? Possible collusion?

Due to the extreme proximity, will these proposed new elementary and middle schools allow attendance of school children that live within the Evergreen school district?

If so, this means that the Battle Ground school district will be paying for the education of these Evergreen School District’s children. If so, Is this illegal?

Please note that the southern portion of the Battle Ground school district is not very populated, as compared to the northern portion of the Evergreen school district.

The south side of NE 99th St. is the Northern Boundary of the York Elementary School District.  The York Primary School is located only about 1000 feet south from this northern boundary, on the east side of NE 152nd Ave, which is inside the Evergreen school district.  Please note that there is a very large vacant property on the West side of NE 152nd Ave., which is across the street from York Elementary School, and could be used for a New York Middle School, if needed.

Please don’t forget that our Clark County property taxes have recently significantly increased by More Than 20%, between 2017 and 2018.  Included, was the original non-voted  “State Schools Levy,” plus an additional new non-voted “State Schools - Part 2 Levy.”

This year, Clark County property-tax payers are being charged an additional $420 to $2,000 dollars per year, per homeowner.

These extremely large property tax increases are particularly difficult for senior citizens to pay for when they are only surviving on a Social Security income, which only increases about 2% per year.

Please vote no.
