Letter to the editor

To my fellow members of the community,

There’s no question we all love the small town feel of La Center. Considering the growing population, now more than ever it’s important we come together to ensure La Center maintains that small town feel. As the farmlands close to town turn to homes, as we all knew they would someday, we feel a twinge of pain saying goodbye. What we don’t have to say goodbye to is the values our community has always held dear. A no vote, or not voting at all, means you are okay with lowering the high standards this community has set, and our schools are known for! I know change is hard, but it is inevitable. I ask you to join me in supporting the future of our community — Our kids! January 29th Vote yes!

One comment. The student enrollment projection numbers are woefully high. I exchanged emails with the Superintendent of La Center and found out they had a report prepared by ESD 112. Reviewing that report shows that the "real" enrollment numbers will likely be a small fraction of their proposed numbers. Please look into this before accepting.
