Vote yes on the Hockinson levies

Posted

Washington state has over the last couple of years made volatile property tax moves. We can see and hear the impact in the Hockinson community. The economy is at its peak, the community has grown, voter participation has declined and the school district has failed to pass a levy for the first time since the economic downfall in 2007. While the overall property taxes are projected to go down, this information is not easy to understand nor easy to come by. The negative sentiment is palpable.

In order for the school district to remain great, by providing a curriculum above and beyond minimum state standards, these new and reduced levies must pass. Hockinson School Board and its voters need to reconnect, the community needs to re-engage, to retain and drive the very excellence that Hockinson has become known for.
