Based on RSD’s track record, vote yes on bond

We have a hard time thinking of a school district that is more deserving of community support than the Ridgefield School District. That is why we urge you to join us in voting yes on the Ridgefield School District bond measure in the February election.

The Ridgefield School District continues its long track record of delivering high-quality education for all students. In 2015 Ridgefield became the first Washington school district to receive AdvancED System accreditation for meeting high standards for assessment practices, communication, and professional development. That same year the district partnered with the community to create the Ridgefield Family Resource Center to provide programs, activities and services to students and families. This year Ridgefield High School is implementing Center for Advanced Professional Studies programs where business, community and public education partner to give students access to industry tools and mentoring by employers. And the district continues to deliver test scores among the highest in Clark County and well in excess of state averages.

Ridgefield’s enrollment has grown almost 50 percent in the past five or six years. Thanks to voter-approved funding in 2012 and 2017, Ridgefield was able to expand capacity, build new schools and successfully complete nearly $150 million in projects to expand and upgrade school facilities. These projects were completed on time and on budget.

Ridgefield’s 2019 bond proposal has been developed by community stakeholders and represents a cost-effective approach to provide facilities that support quality education and that respond to continued enrollment growth. The proposed bond measure will fund a new K-4 school to reduce overcrowding at Union Ridge, renovate vocational education spaces, add new classrooms at the high school, provide covered play areas at the elementary schools, and fund needed upgrades for school mechanical systems and security.

Please join us in voting “yes” on the Ridgefield school bond on Feb. 13 and support quality education, a community-based facility plan, and cost-effective projects.
