Madore offers more for Clark County

As a citizen and business owner, David Madore got informed about county policies and actions that impact us all. He offered input at public meetings, analyzed information, sought expert review, and shared online at www.Couv.com.

Entrenched politicians serving special interests interrupted his citizen comments, mocked legitimate concerns, and continued with pet projects. Madore responded by running for county commissioner to serve citizens.

As county councilor, Madore champions more open meetings and records, as he promised. Now the public has access to county projects and business via the “Grid” (www.clark.wa.gov/thegrid). He welcomes citizen comments, with respect.

Madore honored the 2012 C-TRAN vote where every city in Clark County and county area rejected the C-TRAN proposition for light rail and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). When the C-TRAN board majority ignored the voters, and approved contracts for light rail and BRT anyway, Councilors Madore, Mielke, and Jeanne Stewart refused to approve the contracts. Madore further exposed secret light rail contract details, giving TriMet eminent domain rights in Clark County, and urged cancellation of the contract.

Madore advocated county-wide advisory votes in 2013 on transportation options. Previously C-TRAN votes were held county-wide until the C-TRAN board majority cut out large areas of north and east county from transportation votes.

The 2013 advisory votes restored the voice of all county voters, who all pay the C-TRAN sales tax. Citizens again rejected light rail and BRT unless the projects got a green light in a public vote. Madore’s leadership as Clark County Chair will continue to serve citizens county-wide.
