We’ll forge a brighter future with President Trump

Editor,

A presidential election year is a great opportunity to bring new people into the political process. Trump, in particular, is causing people to be interested.

With newly minted presidential nominee Donald J. Trump, why was it impossible to find a venue in Clark County where local citizens could experience a Trump rally?

People from across the political spectrum are interested in him as both political parties appear to be losing the respect of many would-be voters. Trump is seen as an alternative and a vehicle for the politically disaffected to be heard.

Our political mothers and fathers, a.k.a. the local party gatekeepers, apparently didn’t feel we needed to hear Trump. Regardless, he is drawing support from Democrats, Republicans and Independents who have lost faith in traditional political institutions.

We do know what we will get with Trump. He is an imperfect vessel, as many of our best presidents were. Still, he has the courage to confront our failing fiscal, border, trade and foreign policies. So, many are set to vote Trump, frustrating party hacks and ideologues, in hopes of forging a brighter future with President Trump.
