Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler has declined to engage in a debate with Carolyn Long that is sponsored by the League of Women Voters. Her stated reason is an unspecified scheduling conflict.
However, the League intentionally scheduled the debate when Congress is not in session. So, what could possibly be more urgent on the congresswoman’s schedule than this debate?
She owes it to SW Washington voters to actually show up in person so we can evaluate her positions on key issues impacting our lives and compare them to the positions of her challenger, Carolyn Long.
