Should we be responsible for Oregon’s terrible transportation debt?

No light rail. Absolutely not. Governor Inslee said Washington needs to join Oregon to support light rail so we can get the I-5 bridge done. Clark County voted the light rail down three times because it’s too costly and will not solve the traffic problem.

Put a six to eight lane bridge right along the present bridge on the east side so it could use the same corridor. The present bridge is adequate for 40 plus years by proven studies. Washington could build the bridge without Oregon and the light rail probably just as cheap. Oregon wants the light rail in Clark County so they make us help pay for their terrible transportation debt.

Let’s stick to our principles and build the bridge and no light rail so they can’t blame Washington for the traffic problem and let Oregon take care of one of the worst areas, the Rose Quarter.
