Ridgefield school bond deserves support

Communities that invest in themselves attract people who care about their community. The Ridgefield School District has done an amazing job creating and implementing a vision for quality education in collaboration with the broader community. If you live in the area, I don’t have to sell you on why new schools and expanded facilities are needed. That said, the way in which our education leaders have put together a plan to accommodate a rapidly growing student population has been efficient, thoughtful, and responsive to community needs. This bond is not only necessary, but it’s also affordable. For most homeowners, the impact will be about a cup of coffee per month. For that, our community will be able to invest in a new elementary school, a new vocational education building, more high school classrooms, safety upgrades, and more.

There are a lot of reasons why the Ridgefield area will continue to grow. We can’t control if we grow, but we can decide how we grow. By investing in schools, our community will reap benefits beyond just better classrooms. A yes vote in February means a safer, more connected, and a brighter future for all of us.
