Clark County needs a good listener in chair position

Posted

The August 4 primary race for Clark County Chair gives voters a chance to influence whether the letter and spirit of our new County Charter will be fully implemented over the next four years.

I am voting for Marc Boldt for county chair and urge others to do the same.

Marc helped craft the new County Charter as a member of the Board of Freeholders and supported its adoption. He can be relied upon to live up to its letter and spirit.

Marc has political courage and independence. He was cut off from funding by the party he’d been part of for years in large part because he refused to promise local party leadership how to vote on something that was coming before the County Board of Commissioners. Instead,

Marc insisted on hearing from the public – that’s you and me – before deciding how to vote.

Marc has experience at both the county and state level, having served on the Board of Clark County Commissioners from 2005–2012, and as a state Representative for the 17th District 1994-2004.

Marc is independent, thoughtful, practical, and experienced. He listens to all sides before making a decision. We need a good listener as county chair.
