Join me in voting ‘yes’ for the Ridgefield School District bond

Posted

Ridgefield continues to grow with new homes popping up weekly. Ridgefield School District can’t control this growth but must respond in a responsible manner. Ridgefield continues to be a special place to live and raise a family and our community is growing because many others have recognized it has many great things to offer. Again, the school district is in real need to meet the growing population by means of additional facilities and classrooms.

The latest bond measure is extremely fiscally responsible. The cost? Actually only $0.09 per $ 1,000 of assessed value. So for a home with an assessed valuation of $ 400,000, this would be a yearly increase of $36 or only $ 3 per month. You read that right, only $ 3 per month.

What will we get for $ 3 a month?

• brand new K-4 elementary school

• new 35,000+ square-foot classroom pod at Ridgefield High School

• full renovated vocational education facilities

• covered play areas at all elementary schools

• new HVAC systems at elementary schools

• security and safety upgrades at all district facilities.

This bond does not include money for the purchase of new land. The land where the new K-4 school will be located is being paid for by school impact fees that developers are required to pay.

Ridgefield is a premier district and these facility upgrades will provide our students every viable opportunity to ensure their educational success.

Please join me in voting “yes” in February.
