Ronald Buma, 63, of Battle Ground, died peacefully at home on April 12, 2019.

He was born on May 23, 1955 to Edward P. Buma (deceased) and Margaret Buma of Vancouver. He is also survived by his two sons Jarrod and James Buma, his twin brother Donald, brothers Ed, Dale, Tony, and Mike, along with two grandchildren, Hailee and Edward.

Ron grew up on a dairy farm in Brush Prairie. He graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1973. He worked a few miscellaneous jobs before landing a job for the City of Battle Ground. After 39 years of service, Ron retired as head of the Water and Sewer Reclamation Division of their Public Works Department.

Ron loved spending time with his family, especially playing with his precious grandchildren.

In his free time he loved to go fishing with his good friends, Keith & Joyce Russell. He also enjoyed going golfing with his sons and numerous other friends.

He had a cheerful personality who truly enjoyed life. He always wore a smile and frequently liked to tell a good joke. It was with this light hearted humor that he often communicated advice or shared some of his own life’s lessons. He was a firm believer of his faith and always tried to instill good morals and values in his children for he knew that one day he would be called home to spend eternal life with our Heavenly Father.

Ron never met a stranger he didn’t call a friend. He took pride in the fact he used to know almost every resident by name when Battle Ground was still just a small rural town.

A celebration of his life will be held at Battle Ground Baptist Church, 1110 NW 6th Ave., on Saturday, May 11, 2019 beginning at 2pm.
