James A. Turner

    James “Jimmy” A. Turner, age 72 of Woodland, passed away at home of a heart attack. He was born in Minneapolis, MN May 24, 1946 with his twin sister Jean Shaw. The family moved to Woodland in 1948 where he lived the remainder of his life. 

    Jimmy spent four years in the Army and served time in Vietnam. He retired from Weyerhaeuser Pulp, Longview. Jimmy was a devoted Christian and spent many hours at the church, helping in any way he could, especially with the youth group. Jimmy was the church cookie baker. He baked cookies for all occasions and then some. 

    Jimmy is survived by his sons Douglas (Nikki) and Robert, brothers Jerry (Patty). Arnie (Carole) and sister Jean (Jay) Shaw, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Lorraine Osborne, stepfather Ozzie Osborne, his wife Marty, sister Diane Frederickson, brother Roger and granddaughter Samantha Turner. 

    A memorial service is being held April 20, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Pleasant View Community Church, 14756 Lewis River Road, Ariel.
