THE BATTLE GROUND Community Center is currently open as a cooling center and will remain open as such until 8 p.m. on July 2.
The city of Battle Ground will open the Battle Ground Community Center as a cooling center as a result of the soaring temperatures this week.
The community center, located at 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground, will be open as a cooling center Mon., June 29-Thu., July 2, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Those needing a respite from the heat are invited to spend time in the air-conditioned Community Center. Visitors are encouraged to bring picnic meals, books, magazines, board games and activities for children. WiFi will be available for those wanting to use mobile devices.
