Last week Clark County Superior Court Judge Robert Lewis sentenced Ricardo Gutierrez to 45 years in prison.
Earlier this month Lewis found Ricardo Gutierrez guilty for the premeditated, first-degree murder of 3-year-old Jose “Pepe” Castillo-Cisneros and for second-degree assault on Yadira Cisneros, Pepe’s mother.
Gutierrez beat and stabbed Pepe in May of 2016, and assaulted his mother when she tried to stop him. At the time, Lewis lived at the residence and was boyfriend to Cisneros. Pepe later died from the injuries.
Gutierrez and his legal team are appealing the sentencing.
