WSDOT looks to solve one of Clark County’s worst intersections

The Washington State Department of Transportation is asking motorists to participate in a survey to learn more about the issues of safety, mobility, and travel through the intersection of State Route 500 and NE Fourth Plain Boulevard.

“This intersection has one of the highest rates of crashes, congestion and travel delays in the entire county,” WSDOT Regional Planning Manager Michael Williams said in a news release. “Feedback from people who use this corridor will help us identify the best possible solutions to improve travel for all users.”

The online survey will be open through Jan. 31 at surveymonkey.com/r/SR500FourthPlainStudy. The information from this survey will help WSDOT develop cost-effective strategies to improve travel conditions at this intersection.

The WSDOT release also states that a Technical Advisory Committee including representatives from the City of Vancouver, Clark County, C-TRAN and the Southwest Regional Transportation Council will evaluate each potential strategy based on its effectiveness, cost-benefit, and ease of implementation.
