Smiles stretched across the crowd during the “Dancing with the Local Stars 2.0” event March 23 at the Windy Hills Winery in Ridgefield. Six local stars participated in a dance competition to help raise money for youth leadership development programs, a new youth social club and hands-on service projects in Clark County. This year’s theme for the event was “Night at the Movies” where groups danced to songs from movies Mamma Mia, Grease, Risky Business, Troll, Sound of Music, and Saturday Night Fever.

In total, $16,842 was raised with the help of Maureen Montague, Ralph Stevens, Sandra Day, Aaron Siebel, Mike Filbin, Melinda Piekstra, Russell Brent, Dani Synarski, Kevin Getch, Rachel Lidskog and Kelley Campbell. First place went to Campbell from Specialty Graphic Solutions with her dance instructor Aaron Siebol, for their performance to “Disco Inferno.”

The local stars worked with dance instructors to perfect their dance numbers.

“The whole process was really very fun. Tonight is obviously the best part because everyone’s here having a good time,” Campbell said.”

The guests who attended the event were served dinner and had the option to buy raffle tickets for different prizes. The Rotary Club of Three Creeks presented “Dancing with the Local Stars” and this is the second year it has taken place. The event was produced by First Dance, Inc. with professional dance instructors/choreographers to partner with the local stars.
