Last Tuesday evening at about 7:20 p.m. a 16-year-old driver struck a 25-year-old pedestrian at the intersection of South Parkway and Rasmussen Boulevard, according to a statement from the city of Battle Ground.

The pedestrian was walking north on South Parkway’s crosswalk and the vehicle was headed east onto Rasmussen Boulevard from southbound South Parkway.

The walker did not sustain life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The driver was tested for impairment, but none was found. Officials also found that speeding was not a factor — determining he was driving between 10-15 miles-per-hour —  but the driver was cited for not yielding to a pedestrian.
