Battle Ground recognition banquet to be held this week

The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce (GVCC) last week announced the finalists for Battle Ground’s Annual Recognition Banquet. Late last year the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce merged with GVCC. GVCC now has a Battle Ground Chamber Council in place, which offers guidance on its Battle Ground-area operations.  

The award recipients will be announced on Feb. 21 during the banquet, held at the Battle Ground Community Center. The event is catered by Chelatchie Crossing Smokehouse & Saloon. 

Finalists in each category

Lifetime Achievement Award: John and Lynda Idsinga and Mavis Nickels.

Citizen of the Year: Tyler Castle, Marcy Sprecher, and Lydia Sanders.

Outstanding Youth of the Year: Victoria Crossland, Tyler Venneri, and Brooke Walling. 



Business Person of the Year: Kendra Laratta, Steve Niemi, and Dino Ramzi. 

Business of the Year: Columbia Credit Union, Emanar Cellars, and Richardson Eye.

Teacher of the Year: Daniel Hidden, Alison Pierce, and Mary Sorenson.

Coach of the Year: Bradford Batten, Manny Melo, and Rob Smith.
