The 2016 Clark County Fair is quickly approaching and will be going on at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield Aug. 5-14.

In addition to the typical sites and sounds of the annual Clark County Fair — the animals, family activities, monster trucks, demolition derby, fair contests and more — the event also features several different well-known musical entertainment acts in the Grandstand Concert Series.

All fair concerts will once again be held at the Grandstands at the fairgrounds. This year’s concert lineup will include performances by Queensryche, Trace Adkins, Chris Janson, Los Lonely Boys and Foghat.

Here are the concert dates for each of the performers and a few more details about each one:

Queensryche

Queensryche will be performing at the fair Friday, Aug. 5, at 7 p.m. Tickets for this show are $25-$30.

According to the official Queensryche website, www.queensrycheofficial.com, Queensrÿche first burst onto the music scene in 1982 with the release of their self-titled four-song EP “Queensrÿche.” They very quickly gained international recognition and performed to sold out audiences around the world.

With the follow up first full-length album “The Warning” in 1984, and the ground-breaking 1986 release of “Rage For Order,” Queensrÿche continued to prove their worldwide dominance as one of the most respected and creative bands of the 80s. In 1988 the band turned out yet another monumental album, “Operation:Mindcrime,” which would go on to become one of the Top-10 best selling concepts records of all time, and set the stage for continued sold out performances around the world.

With the release of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful “Empire” in 1991, the band earned multiple Grammy Award nominations and won the MTV “viewers choice” award for the No. 1 chart-topping hit “Silent Lucidity.” During the next 10 years, the band continued to release albums and tour the world to sold out audiences. Queensrÿche has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and have continued to break new ground and push their creative process.

Queensryche is made up of Michael Wilton-Guitar; Todd LaTorre-Vox; Scott Rockenfield-Drums; Eddie Jackson-Bass; and Parker Lundgren-Guitar.

Trace Adkins

Trace Adkins will make his musical appearance at the Clark County Fair on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. Tickets to his concert are $25-$35.

Trace Adkins’ trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts and turned albums into Platinum plaques, selling more 10 million albums cumulatively, according to the official Trace Adkins website, www.traceadkins.com. The Grammy-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a television personality, actor, author, spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Project, the American Red Cross and has performed seven USO Tours.

Adkins has played a tough as nails biker in the The Lincoln Lawyer, developed and hosted GAC’s “Great American Heroes” and has hosted the American Country Awards on FOX for four consecutive years.

In late October, Adkins released his first Christmas album entitled, “The King’s Gift,” a unique collection of Celtic carols and traditional holiday favorites. The album boasts an impressive group of musicians, including world-renowned Irish ensemble The Chieftains, Scottish vocalist Alyth McCormick, award-winning family group The Isaacs, Kevin Costner and daughter Lily Costner, and rock drummer Kenny Aronoff.

Los Lonely Boys

The Los Lonely Boys will visit the Clark County Fair and perform on Sunday, Aug. 7, at 3:30 p.m. Tickets to this show are $25-$35.

According to the Los Lonely Boys official website, https://loslonelyboys.com, Los Lonely Boys is made up of three brothers - Jojo Garza (bass and vocals), Henry Garza (guitar and vocals) and Ringo Garza (drums and vocals). Their father, Ringo Garza Sr., was a member of another sibling band, the Falcones, which played throughout southern Texas in the 1970s and 1980s. When that group disbanded, Ringo Sr. went solo, and recruited his three young sons to back him.

The family relocated to Nashville in the 1990s, and soon Henry, Jojo and Ringo Jr. began writing and performing their own material as a trio.

After moving back to Texas, the brothers recorded their eponymous debut album in 2003 at Willie Nelson’s Pedernales studio in Austin, with Willie himself guesting on the sessions. Although originally released on a small music label, Epic Records picked up Los Lonely Boys for major-label distribution in early 2004. The album quickly won the band a large national audience. Its lead single “Heaven” became a Top-20 pop hit, reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart and eventually won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

After a prominent guest appearance on the 2005 Santana album “All That I Am,” Los Lonely Boys solidified their success with 2006’s “Sacred,” which brought two more Grammy nominations, and 2008’s “Forgiven,” as well as the holiday-themed “Christmas Spirit.” Meanwhile, the band continued to build its reputation as a singularly powerful live act.

In early 2009, Los Lonely Boys made their “LonelyTone/Playing in Traffic” debut with the all-covers EP 1969, followed by the unplugged “Keep On Giving: Acoustic Live!” Those releases set the stage for the band’s acclaimed 2011 album “Rockpango,” and for the creative leap forward that “Revelation” represents.

Chris Janson                                                                                              Chris Janson will perform at the fair on Monday, Aug. 8, 7 p.m. Tickets are $25-$30.

Chris Janson is a country singer from Perryville, MO. His debut album, “Buy Me a Boat,” is available now. Listen to Janson’s music at www.chrisjanson.com.

Foghat                                                                                                       Last but not least, Foghat will make their appearance at the fair on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m. Tickets to the Foghat show are $25.

According to the official Foghat website, www.foghat.net, Foghat’s live performances show why the band is still around today and why they will be able to keep on rockin’ as long as they want. Constant touring is part of their DNA and the band just loves to play. Their live show is as intense as ever with the incredible energy and musicianship that one would expect and hope for from a seasoned band with such a long musical history and they are bringing their fans along for the ride.

This year finds them ready to release a new album called “Under the Influence,” which they’ve had a terrific time recording along with some special guests and old friends.

Foghat fans are everywhere and these days their audience consists of all ages. From the young kids who play Guitar Hero III and know all of the lyrics to “Slow Ride,”  to the “Dazed & Confused” generation of 30-40 somethings and the “boomers” who bought Foghat’s first vinyl or 8 track.

Formed in 1971 when Lonesome Dave Peverett and Roger Earl left the British blues-rock band, Savoy Brown, Foghat has earned eight Gold records, one Platinum record and one Double-Platinum record.  And they continue to release new music every few years. They have never stopped touring and recording although there have been several ups and downs and changes over the years. They lost Lonesome Dave Peverett in 2000 and Rod Price in 2005, but Roger Earl kept banging and kicking to keep Foghat’s musical legacy going.

Lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Charlie Huhn played with Ted Nugent, Gary Moore and Humble Pie,  and lead/slide guitarist Bryan Bassett played with Wild Cherry and Molly Hatchet. Bass player Craig Macgregor has been with the band since the 1970s and on drums was the man who should be thanked for keeping Foghat going - founding member Roger Earl.
