Clark County participating in National CSA Day

Posted

Clark County Grown will be joining others around the country in celebrating National CSA Day on Feb. 23, celebrating a commitment to eating local, a news release from Slow Food Southwest Washington stated last week.

CSA (community-supported agriculture) is a subscription to a season’s worth of sustainable, locally grown produce that is distributed to members throughout the harvesting season according to the release. Clark County Grown offers several local growers who take part in the CSA model.

The CSA model is touted as beneficial for small farmers, allowing them to continue growing on a scale that may not be sustainable without the CSA model. Those subscribing to the CSA can benefit from fresh, locally-grown produce while also supporting local farmers.
