At first appearance to the A.C.T. Builders staff, this 1933 farmhouse looked like a complete tear down. It had been deemed storage by the previous owners years ago and looked like it hadn’t been touched in the many years prior to that.

A.C.T. Builders staff went in with a plan to make this house new for a family to enjoy for many years to come. They knocked down a few walls and created a few new ones to make this home functional for a modern family, without taking away all of its vintage charm.

Created was a spacious kitchen that was more open to the rest of the house without losing its charm. They included a built-in pantry utilizing an old exterior entrance and created a breakfast nook with mudroom-type storage.

The dining room is now visible from the kitchen and has ample space for family parties. The living room was given a new fireplace and built-ins to create a space for families to enjoy time together.

Multiple rooms including the dining room, nook, living room and master bedroom were given boxed ceilings to create an elegant look. Two bedrooms were merged into one to create the new rear exterior entrance and a master suite. The master bedroom now has a built-in closet system and a master bathroom including a walk in shower, toilet room, and double sinks.

The main floor has an additional bathroom that was completely remodeled with tile work. The upstairs has two bedrooms, a play space and a “secret room” for children to play in. The basement was completely unfinished and had to be dug out and concrete re-poured to create a family space.

The basement has a rustic feel and includes a family room, playroom, office, laundry room, bathroom, mechanical room and an exterior entrance. Lastly, a covered back patio was created to extend the living space with a concrete floor and a rustic metal-barreled ceiling.

The rest of the exterior received new roofing, siding and landscaping to create a new timeless look for many years to come.
