18th Legislative District

Sen. Ann Rivers, R-La Center, and Rep. Brandon Vick, R-Felida, will hold three separate town halls in three separate cities within the 18th Legislative District this Saturday.

The two will start their day in Ridgefield, before heading to Battle Ground, then ending the day in Camas.

“As we prepare for the legislative session, we want the constituents of the 18th District to have an opportunity to ask questions and provide input on the upcoming session,” Vick said in a news release. “I am concerned about protecting taxpayer dollars and finding new economic opportunities and family-wage jobs for Clark County. However, there will be many other issues before us including education, transportation and possible tax proposals. It is important we hear from our constituents on these issues and others before the session begins.”

“To me a big part of being a citizen legislator is knowing what is on the hearts and minds of the people I represent, and carrying those questions and concerns to the state Capitol,” Rivers said in a news release. “I realize national politics are attracting a lot of attention, but these meetings are a time to focus on the state-level issues that concern southwest Washington — like the ongoing need for good jobs, which has been amplified by the coming job losses at the Camas paper mill, and where Olympia fits in when it comes to economic development.”

17th Legislative District

Sen. Lynda Wilson, R-Vancouver, Rep. Paul Harris, R-Vancouver, and Rep. Vicki Kraft, R-Vancouver, are holding a town hall Saturday morning.

In a letter to his constituents, Harris listed a few issues they plan to discuss including education funding, transportation, water, healthcare and others.

“Town halls offer a great forum for us to chat about important issues on your mind,” Wilson wrote in a letter to her constituents. “Your concerns are mine as well and I take that responsibility very seriously while representing you in Olympia.”
