Here is a roundup of the vintage and antique stores in the Old Town Battle Ground area and what they have to offer this holiday season:

Nest Vintage & Home Decor

There are also a variety of classes offered by vendors at Nest, including ones on sign making and how to rewire a lamp and make a lamp from objects.

Urban Basics & Company

About a year ago, Urban Basics & Company made the decision to expand and give the store a bit of a makeover. As a part of that makeover, owner Kari Huegel and her sons, Derek and Travis, decided to add in a 7,000-square-foot vintage and antiques marketplace, called The Barn, complete with about 75 vendors. The normal store space full of crafts, furniture, repurposed items and more, in combination with the large antiques marketplace area, makes for a great place to look for Christmas gifts and holiday decor this season.

Kari said Christmas Lane opened Nov. 27, which is the center of The Barn all decked out in gift ideas and Christmas home decor. She said they have lots of Christmas decorations from vendors, and also from the arts and crafts section of the main store. The store also offers lots of Christmas gifts, unique and one-of-a-kind items. Some good gift items include adult coloring books and gift certificates for that person who is hard to buy gifts for.

The store also has the largest Melissa and Doug toy collection that Kari knows of. Anyone working on DIY Christmas projects will also find plenty of craft supplies at the store.

During First Friday, Kari said they will have a Christmas caroling/sing-a-long from 4-8 p.m.

Urban Basics & Company is located at 209 E. Main St., Battle Ground. The store is open Mon.-Sat., 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. For more information, call (360) 666-5331 or visit the Urban Basics website at www.urbanbasics.co.

Johnson said one of the most popular gift ideas this season are gift certificates that cover enrollment for the recipient and the giver to enjoy a class together. The “wine, paint, create” nights that are held at the store sell out every month, according to Johnson.

A kids winter art camp is also coming up. This winter break mini camp allows young crafters to share some fun wintery creativity for a festive change up from the summer camp.
