The Battle Ground City Council has named the city’s interim city manager and former community development director Erin Erdman as the permanent head of city’s executive government.

The council approved the appointment of Erdman to permanent city manager unanimously during its April 1 council meeting. Erdman had served in an interim capacity since October after the resignation of former city manager Jeff Swanson.

Mayor Mike Dalesandro said in the release that council was excited to officially have Erdman in the permanent position.

“In her time as Interim City Manager, she has shown us she is a quality leader with an exceptional work ethic and clear understanding of community needs,” Dalesandro remarked.

Erdman had more than 15 years of experience in municipal government, having been appointed as Battle Ground Community Development Director in April 2014.

Prior to Battle Ground, Erdman worked for the City of Vancouver as lead associate planner, development supervisor and permit center manager.  Earlier in her career, she was an assistant planner/GIS technician with the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments.

The city manager is the chief executive officer for the city.
