Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson will be in Battle Ground this week as part of the official’s efforts to visit every Rotary club in the state.

The Battle Ground Rotary club announced last week that Ferguson would be visiting them at their club meeting Oct. 25. So far, Ferguson has visited Rotary clubs in 25 of Washington’s 39 counties.

After being elected for his first term in 2012, Ferguson made a point to visit every Rotary club in the state, according to a news release from his office. Recently he visited his 100th Rotary in Richland earlier this month, putting him more than halfway toward his goal of visiting all 187 clubs in Washington.

“With every Rotarian I meet, I learn more about the Washington communities I serve,” Ferguson stated in the release. “Listening to these local leaders has made me a better Attorney General.”

Previously, Ferguson has visited four Clark County-based Rotary clubs: The Lewis River Rotary in March of 2016, and the Vancouver Metro Sunset, Vancouver Sunrise and Greater Clark County in May of 2017.

Ferguson, who was re-elected last year, had previously served as a King County councilor. Recently the Attorney General has made national headlines in his legal challenges, specifically those against the Trump Administration’s travel bans on certain predominantly Muslim countries.
