Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, and her office will be hosting a “guide to grants seminar” on Aug. 16 at Washington State University Vancouver.

“This event will bring together a variety of federal agency and foundation representatives and successful grantees to provide best practices and strategies on how to produce more competitive proposals and applications for grants,” stated a press release form her office.

Organizations and government entities that compete for federal grants or apply for grants through foundations are encouraged to attend.

The seminar will feature representatives from federal grant programs. A variety of breakout sessions focused on successfully competing for federal grant funding will be held. A new addition this year will be a foundation information session.

The seminar will be held Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Dengerink Administration Building at WSU-Vancouver, located at 14204 NE Salmon Creek Ave., Vancouver.

The cost for parking is $3. Participants are asked to park in the blue lot. Interested parties should RSVP by Monday, Aug. 14, online at herrerabeutler.house.gov/forms/form/?ID=3255. For more information, contact Jordan Meade at Jordan.Meade@mail.house.gov or 360-695-6292.
