The woman who pushed a 16-year-old Kalama resident off the Moulton Falls Bridge (a 50-foot drop) into the East Fork Lewis River last August has pled guilty to her charges and is expected to be sentenced Thursday.

Tay’lor Smith, 19, pled guilty to a reckless endangerment charge March 18. She had previously pled not guilty in December, though KATU news noted that in February she received a plea deal from the state, the details of which were not made available at that time.

Smith is charged for an August 2018 incident caught on video where she pushed then-16-year-old Jordan Holgerson off the bridge while Holgerson was deciding whether to jump on her own accord. Holgerson fell more than 50 feet into the water and suffered four rib fractures and punctures in both of her lungs.

The video went viral, leading to an appearance by Smith on national news and the story shared worldwide.

Smith was scheduled to appear for sentencing on March 27, according to KATU, and faces community service instead of jail time according to Holgerson’s mother, Genelle.
