OMSI Camps, The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) offers science camps for grades 2-12 all summer long. The camps offer a combination of science, adventure, activity and summer-camp traditions. OMSI also offers adult and family camps and are designed with varied activities for different abilities. Going Green Summer Camp, for children entering grades 2-5, Mon.-Fri., July 30-Aug. 3 and Mon.-Fri., Aug. 20-24, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Columbia Springs, 12208 SE Evergreen Hwy, Vancouver. Cost is $150 per camper. This program gives children the opportunity to have an active and creative outdoor learning experience close to home. Participants will enjoy the many unique features of the Columbia Springs’ site, including trails, wetlands, the stream table and lakes. The camp will focus on caring for the environment through activities related to reducing, reusing and recycling. Children will also take a field trip to learn more about waste reduction. Science camps at The Gardner School, different camps for children ages 3 and up, camps run for one week starting June 25 and continue throughout the summer, with the last one being Aug. 13-17, most beginning at 9 a.m., at the school, 16413 NE 50th Ave., Vancouver. Costs vary between $155 and $395. Parents may sign their children up for as many camps as they would like, multiple child/camp discounts are available. With the exception of two Mad Science Camps, registration and payment should be coordinated through the front office of the school. Football Factory – Two Minute Camp, ages 11-18, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, July 3-31, 7-9 p.m., Battle Ground High School stadium, 300 W. Main St., Battle Ground. Cost is $85. Non-contact football training camp for 6th-12th graders offensive and defensive skill players. Training will focus on footwork, ball skills, stemming, channeling, coverage recognition and diagnosis. BGHS Mini-Cheerleading Camp, ages 3-18, Mon.-Fri., July 16-20, 10:15-11 a.m. for ages 12-18, 10:15-11 a.m. for ages 6-11 and 10-10:30 a.m. for ages 3-5, Battle Ground High School cafeteria, 300 W. Main St., Battle Ground. Cost is $30. Mini cheerleaders will learn and perform a routine for the Harvest Days celebration. Camp includes a camp T-shirt and pom poms.
