A pedestrian crossing Highway 99 was struck and killed in a collision early the morning of Feb. 8, an alert from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office stated last week.

Around 6 a.m. on Feb. 8, deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the 10700 block of NE Highway 99 in Hazel Dell, according to the sheriff’s office. Upon arrival, personnel discovered a single subject, an adult white male later identified as Dylan Digiulio, 42, of Vancouver, lying in the roadway. Attempts to resuscitate the male at the scene failed and he was pronounced dead.

Initial reports by witnesses revealed two subjects were crossing NE Hwy 99 across from Lyle's Village Pantry, when one fell down in the roadway. A southbound vehicle struck the subject in the roadway. The vehicle then left the scene. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Jeffrey Hill, 29, of Vancouver, contacted 911 a short time later and is cooperating with the investigation.
