Supporters and volunteers of Meals on Wheels People donated enough funds in just one hour to provide 17,000 nutritious meals to older adults in Clark County at the organization's Spring Luncheon presented by Dick Hannah Dealerships. The annual event raised $125,000.

More than 350 area business leaders and volunteers gathered in the Vancouver Hilton on March 6 to hear Diane Nelson talk about her experience delivering meals in Vancouver. Judy Scott received the Compassion for Seniors Award. Judy has delivered meals weekly in Vancouver for more than a dozen years.

Dick Hannah Dealerships was the event presenting sponsor. Other sponsors included: Columbia Credit Union, Walter E. Nelson Co., The Waterfront Vancouver, New Seasons Market, Steve and Jan Oliva, and Tidewater Transportation and Terminals.

Meals on Wheels People has been affecting lives, one meal at a time, since 1970. They provide nutritious meals to older adults at dozens of meal sites in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties, and Meals on Wheels delivery to homebound seniors. With the help of 5,500 volunteers, the nonprofit organization now serves 5,000 meals daily and 1.1 million meals each year. For more information, visit: mowp.org.
