City of Battle Ground water emergency declaration lifted

Posted

The water emergency declaration made on September 14 in the City of Battle Ground has been lifted. A pump that had failed at one of the city’s high-production wells has been repaired and is now fully operational.

The declaration called for immediate voluntary reductions in the consumption of water due to the unforeseen pump failure and rising temperatures. The water conservation efforts made by the city’s residents and businesses helped maintain a safe level of water in the city’s reservoirs.

City officials recognize that water is a valuable resource and conservation is the most effective and environmentally sound way to reduce demand, preserve supplies, and keep area residents’ utility bills in check. For everyday tips on conserving water, visit www.cityofbg.org/conservewater.
