Men looking for a way to navigate through the loss of a loved one have an option specially tailored for them as Community Home Health & Hospice is offering a five-week, free grief support group for men starting April 25.

The new grief support group, which the organization announced in a release earlier this month, will have five weekly meetings at the Elaine & Don Heimbigner Hospice Care Center. The group is specifically designed for men, with the release noting that “men grieve uniquely.”

Leading the group is Chaplain Joel Whiteside, who has more than 15 years of experience leading grief groups, and retired mental health therapist Rick Sievers.

The group strives to provide a “welcoming, comfortable and healing environment” for men to talk among fellow sufferers of grief, regardless of if they’ve had any experience with hospice before, the release states.

Community Home Health & Hospice has offered a variety of healthcare services for more than four decades, covering an area including Clark, Cowlitz and Wahkiakum counties in Washington and Columbia County, Oregon.
