Friends of Danceworks, a nonprofit arm of DanceWorks/Vancouver City Ballet, presents its sixth installment of “The Nutcracker.”

The production features more than 90 student dancers ages 5-18 and 13 adult dancers. Many of the dancers are from the Battle Ground area.

“Along with the lovely leaping ballerinas portraying snowflakes and flowers, acrobatics will be sprinkled among several other scenes,” an announcement from the studio reads. “Those features will add sparkle to the magical story of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they battle the Mouse King and embark on a journey through the Land of Snow into the Kingdom of Sweets.”

Tyler Demeter and Adrienne Paulu will dance the parts of the Cavalier and The Sugar Plum Fairy, respectively. Choreographers are studio director Karen Cannon and instructors Julia Ostrovskaia, Alyssa Hofmann and Tiffany Schmeling.
