Everett Buck, a senior at CAM Academy in Battle Ground, recently scored a perfect 36 on the ACT, a nationwide standardized test used for college admissions which consists of English, math, reading and science.

According to a news release from the ACT organization, only about 0.136 percent of the more than two million students who take the test annually land a perfect score. ACT Chief Executive Officer Marten Roorda sent Buck a letter to congratulate him on his test results.

“Your achievement on the ACT is significant and rare,” he wrote. “While test scores are just one of multiple criteria that most colleges consider when making admission decisions, your exceptional ACT composite score should prove helpful as you pursue your education and career goals.”

As if Buck needed any more help getting into his choice of schools, he was also named as a semifinalist for the 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholars program and the 2018 National Merit Scholar program.
