Posted

With summer here, those seniors looking to get moving — whether it be around town dining, being outside with their dog or exercising classes — have options as Battle Ground Parks and Recreation has released its “Senior Scene” activities schedule for the season.

Where to eat

Mad Hatters Club

Battle Ground’s take on the Red Hat Society has a monthly lunch lineup including pizza and pub grub. The group meets on the second Friday of each month, and joining doesn’t require membership fees or even a red hat.

All of the listed lunches are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at their respective locations. Both are “Dutch treat” or where each attendee pays for their own meal.

July 14 — Lunch at MOD Pizza

The Mad Hatters are heading to one of Battle Ground’s newest additions to its choice of restaurants. MOD Pizza offers artisan-style pizzas and salads that are individually sized, made on demand, and ready to eat in just minutes. Choose from over 30 toppings — the price stays the same no matter what you pick. MOD Pizza is located at 1214 SW Scotton Way #117 in the Walmart shopping center.

Aug. 11 — Lunch at Northwood Pub & Brewery

August’s endeavor is at Northwood Public House and Brewery, 1401 SE Rasmussen Blvd. The menu features locally sourced ingredients with plenty of healthy options that include burgers, sandwiches, salads and soups.
