Battle Ground choir sings with Foreigner Saturday

Members of the Battle Ground High School choir program will share the stage with the rock band Foreigner Saturday at the Sunlight Supply Amphitheater in Ridgefield.

About 25 students will sing backup for the band’s chart-topping song, “I Want to Know What Love Is,” which spent two weeks as Billboard’s number one song in February 1985.

“This is such a fantastic opportunity for our kids and for the BGHS choir program,” said director Darcy Schmitt. “It’s an honor to perform on stage with such an iconic rock band.”

Foreigner will also donate $500 to BGHS choir program, which will help cover costs such as equipment, instruments, and travel to plays and performances during the upcoming school year.

Saturday’s live performance is part of Foreigner’s Juke Box Heroes Tour, which also features the band Whitesnake and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening. Tickets are still available at sunlightsupplyamphitheater.com/events.html.
