La Center will use new digital system for food payments

La Center School District is changing the way food service payments are made this year. Instead of paying by hand while in line, students and parents will use an InTouch Food Service account.

According to the school district, the switch to a digital system will increase accounting efficiency for both parents and the district, but more importantly display a full history of a student's food purchases.

Adding money to an InTouch account can be done online or at the school. Students will be allowed to let their account balance fall two meals below a zero balance, but after that they will be provided a cheese sandwich in K-8 or access to the salad bar in high school until the balance is paid.
