Santa visit

Santa enjoys the company of little kids from a past tree lighting ceremony in Battle Ground.

On Friday, Dec. 7, the City of Battle Ground will celebrate the Christmas season with its annual Christmas tree lighting.

All the action begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Battle Ground Community Center, located at 912 E. Main Street in Battle Ground.

The traditional festivities begin outdoors in the cool and crisp winter air. The Battle Ground High School Jazz Choir will be singing carols.

At some point, a Fire District 3 Engine will arrive with Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will light the tree before setting up shop inside the community center.

From 6-8 p.m., kids will have the opportunity to snap a picture with Santa while they relay their wishlist. Pack your own camera.

The North County Community Food Bank will provide free refreshments throughout the event. Donations are encouraged.
