The largest company of its kind in SW Washington, Rick’s Custom Fencing and Decking has been serving customers since 1994, and in addition to their Vancouver location now has four satellite properties including facilities in Hillsboro, Gresham, Salem, and the Tri-Cities.
The company was founded by Rick and Marlene Stanley in Hillsboro in 1980. Rick’s Custom Fencing and Decking provides high-quality fence and decking materials and offers design consultation and installation.
“We’re sort of a one-stop shop – fencing or deck-wise,’’ said Stu Bailey, store manager of Rick’s Custom Fencing & Decking Vancouver store. “People come to us and our experts help them select the perfect materials and designs for their projects, then our installers come in and put it all together.
“Our motto, and we’re serious about this, is ‘We Guarantee Happy Customers’ and we stand by that and have for 30-plus years,” Bailey said. “We offer free estimates and six month, interest-free financing as well.”

Installers for Rick’s Custom Fencing & Decking will either do complete installs or can set the posts and deliver the materials so homeowners can finish the project themselves. They offer the same two options for decks as well, offering to build the deck framework leaving customers the option of hammering the rest of the deck materials into place. They will also just deliver the materials for fencing or decking jobs, letting the homeowner do all the work.
“Our work is almost 100 percent residential,” Bailey said, “and right now is our peak season, so if anyone wants a new fence or deck to enjoy this summer, they better call right away. As it is, we’re already booked for the next 3 1/2 weeks.
“We do add crews when we need to, but now is the time to call, prices are never going down, especially with vinyl, which is petroleum based, and while we hold prices as long as we can, buying sooner rather than later makes economic sense.”
Rick’s will be an exhibitor at the 2013 Clark Public Utilities Home & Garden Idea Fair to be held April 26-28 at the Clark Count Event Center at the fairgrounds. Rick’s has a current discount offer that will be good through the end of April and will be promoted at the show.
