North Columbia Homes specializes in affordability, value

When Bryan and Lacy Weed decided to start their home building and real estate business, North Columbia Homes, in December 2009, it seemed like the obvious thing to do.

“We have three generations of building in the family, it was what we know,” Lacy said. “Born and raised in the area, we know our market and focus on bringing a great value to our clients with the product we choose to provide. We acquire land and build affordable single-family homes during a tough economy.”

According to the North Columbia Homes website, this third-generation home builder has many quality years of experience and standards. They have built everything from entry level affordable homes for the first-time home buyer and investors to custom homes on a person’s own land.

Lacy said two things North Columbia Homes really focuses on are affordability and value. She said they take a lot of time with first-time home buyers who may not have originally thought they would be able to get out of their apartment and into a home. North Columbia Homes primarily builds affordable single-family homes.

“(We also focus on) working with families who need a larger home and realizing how much price per square foot we can provide,” Lacy said. “Generations of expertise and precision has allowed us to really know what to provide to our clients and how important it is to making it an enjoyable and easy process.”

Projects offered through North Columbia Homes range from entry level homes in residential developments to custom homes built on acreage. They have their own development projects or clients can request to have something built on their own lot.

Some trends Lacy said they’ve seen clients wanting in their new homes include 9-foot ceilings, more contemporary styles, white/lighter cabinets, floor plans that accommodate a master on the main floor and more. She said their busiest time of year tends to be January to June.

Currently, North Columbia Homes is based out of Vancouver, however, Lacy and Bryan have lived in Hockinson, Battle Ground and Ridgefield. They have built homes as far north as the Woodland and Amboy areas, and they do service all of Clark County. They have a 6-year-old daughter named Avery.
