BG business owner offers drywall services in area

Although 33-year-old Clayton Breckenridge has a degree in human development, he decided to take his career in a slightly different direction after finishing college.

In 2007, Breckenridge started his own business in the Battle Ground area, NorthFork Drywall, Inc.

“It (working in drywall) was just something I was doing as a job during college,” Breckenridge said. “I knew a guy when I was going to college who worked in drywall and knew I was looking for work. I’m a hard worker and I was a college student who needed a job. I graduated working during the days and going to school at night.”

Breckenridge graduated from Battle Ground High School in 2000 and attended college at the University of Washington and Warner Pacific College. However, he said he doesn’t plan on pursuing a career in the area of human development anytime soon, unless of course he gets “burnt out on Sheetrock.”

NorthFork Drywall offers a variety of drywall construction services, including work on ceilings, insulations and more.

“We do anything from a hole in the wall that needs to be patched, to million dollar homes, to commercial projects,” Breckenridge said.

Breckenridge has done several commercial projects in the Battle Ground area, including work on several places in the Albertsons complex in Battle Ground such as Tan Republic and 2000 Nails. However, Breckenridge said the majority of his jobs consist of working for home builders in the area.

Lately, Breckenridge said he’s been pretty busy year round, but business definitely picks up even more during the spring and summer months when he said there are a lot more “do-it-yourself” home builders working on projects. Breckenridge also said he hears from numerous homeowners who need smaller jobs done, like fixing water leaks, cracks in the wall or maybe a hole in the wall caused by a baseball or something else. He said he also gets homeowners who want bathroom or kitchen remodels.

NorthFork Drywall is licensed in both Oregon and Washington, so Breckenridge said he goes all over the place doing jobs, including down to the coast, in the Columbia Gorge area, the Tacoma area and others.
