Recently, locally-owned Miller Paint teamed up with HGTV star Joanna Gaines to become the exclusive independent Pacific Northwest paint store supplier of her new line of paints. Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines Paint can now be found in Miller Paint stores throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

Joanna personally developed and selected the collection of 150 classic colors, from bold to soft and neutral to warm. Within that number are 25 Market Collection colors that Joanna considers her go-to colors when it comes to her own decorating and designing. A short story of the inspiration of these colors can be found on the back of the color chips. With names like “Wedding Band,” “Ella Rose” and “Shiplap,” fans of the popular HGTV show, Fixer Upper, will immediately recognize the special connection.

One such example is “Americana Egg” with a thoughtful reflection that reads: “One of my favorite things on the farm is when my kids come running through the back door with that morning’s fresh eggs. Some of our hens (Americana Chickens) lays the most perfect shade of eggs — they’re a rich, not quite green color that sticks out from the others. It’s so unexpected that each day it feels like their little gift to us.”

Now DIYers can capture the same easy, relaxed and soothing style that Joanna and her husband, Chip, renovate home after home with on their hit television series.

Miller Paint, a 127-year-old company headquartered in Portland, is honored to partner with Joanna.

Steve Dearborn, CEO and president of Miller Paint (and a Clark County resident), said “They (Magnolia Home) approached us with the opportunity. When we reviewed it, we saw a very cool and modern color palette, supported by excellent color merchandising (and) a huge following (on Joanna and Chip Gaines). When we tested the paint itself, we found it also to be an excellent product. Our Miller Paint sales strategy is to always search out and bring our customers new, quality products with leading edge color offers. This new line met all our criteria.”

The entire line has several attractive features, including KILZ, a stain and odor-blocking product which, up until now, was primarily found as a primer. According to Dearborn, KILZ in a topcoat line is a new venture.

“Developing my own paint collection with the KILZ Brand was an amazing opportunity because paint is the easiest and most dramatic way to transform a space,” Joanna said. “I’m often asked for advice on selecting paint colors, and I want to make that process simpler. I hope these colors come to mean as much to others in their own homes as they do to me. For me, the perfect paint is personal.”

The ultra-premium interior paint and primer in one comes in matte, eggshell and satin finishes.

With a competitive price point ranging from $42 to $52 a gallon, Magnolia Home delivers superior quality that includes:

• Excellent stain-blocking, hide and coverage

• Low VOC (volatile organic compound) and low odor

• Grime, dirt and mildew resistance

• 100 percent acrylic for easy clean up with warm soapy water

• Lifetime limited warranty

“This is a very big deal for us to offer a color collection created by someone as talented and as respected nationally as Joanna Gaines. We’re confident that the collection will inspire Northwest homeowners to bring her authentic, effortless style into their own homes,” Dearborn said.
