Vintage visions: using the old to renew

Posted

Upcycling, vintage finds and treasures buried in time are popular targets for those looking to add a level of decoration outside of the latest and greatest brand-new products.

Those looking for kitschy, rustic or unique items might favor the supposedly outdated knick-knacks and furniture to add a personalized touch to their home and work spaces.

A recent trip by The Reflector to the Clark County Antique & Collectible Show earlier this month brought a host of what collectors are picking up nowadays, with ideas abound from the functional to flashy. Though recycling and renewal generally is seen as environmentally conscious and/or thrifty, style was on prominent display at the event as booths featuring everything from children’s books, horse tack, beer signs and a healthy dose of general oddities lined the event center floor. Featured are a few of the more eye-popping vendor displays showing off that old items can be a stylish addition to modern life.
