Parade of homes to leave Ridgefield; Organizers plan biggest event ever

After three years in Ridgefield, the annual Parade of Homes is moving back east as 2018’s annual event is slated for Camas.

The annual event that takes attendees through brand-new construction in growing Clark County will be hosted at The Parkland at Camas Meadows, with the Clark County Building Industry Association promising a big show.

Chief among the highlights is the possibility of up to 14 entries — far above the five of 2017, a release from the BIA stated. All homes will surpass the $1 million price point, which the release stated would be the first such occurrence in the history of the event.

Regarding the location, The Parklands and Camas Meadows boasted several features, including a luxury golf course, shopping, amenities, access to Highway 14 and a location within the Camas School District.

When completed, The Parklands will have a total of 42 single-family lots and five commercial buildings, the release stated. The commercial space will be called the Archery, featuring a multi-use building featuring 24 living units in the 90,000 square feet the overall space contains.

“This installment of SW Washington’s premier home show is really going to wow our attendees,” Tony Curtis, incoming vice president of the BIA stated in the release. “It’s going to be a great opportunity for our members to showcase their creativity on these spectacular custom home projects!”

Previously, Ridgefield had been the host of the Parade of Homes for three years straight following a move north from the 2014 iteration in Felida. In the past four years, the total number of houses has ranged from four to eight.

Currently, builders are in the process of reserving lots, with an official groundbreaking scheduled for January. Builders interested in taking part are asked to contact BIA Events Director Danielle Kilian at 360-694-0933 or by email at danielle@biaofclarkcounty.org.
