Repair Cafe planned for this weekend

Posted

Clark County’s next Repair Cafe is set for Sept. 15.

For no cost, Repair Cafe volunteers use their expertise and knowledge to diagnose and fix a variety of items that generally fit into a few categories, such as small electronics and appliances, sewing, tool sharpening, bicycles as well as a catch-all category for items such as jewelry and broken ceramics.

Repair Cafes are a Columbia Springs program funded through a Washington State Department of Ecology public participation grant. They launched in Clark County in 2017 and served more than 400 community members and fixed over 220 items by year’s end.  Event organizers ask participants to bring one small item per person. Some replacement items, if needed, may cost a small fee.
