North Clark County Food Bank receives check from Battle Ground United Methodist Church

Last year, the North Clark County Food Bank received a check from the Battle Ground United Methodist Church.  Del Perkins and Pastor Susan Boegli presented the check for $2,225 to Executive Director Liz Cerveny and Program Coordinator Lisa Bechtold.

Cerveny said that her most critical need is funding and that is why the check is so important. With it, they are able to purchase food items that are most needed and they can purchase more with money than most people because of discounts from local markets.

North Clark County Food Bank serves low income residents living in Battle Ground, Brush Prairie, Heisson and Yacolt.

Everyone can help, whether you donate food items, provide monetary donations or become a volunteer.

These are some of the most wanted items: canned vegetables, canned fruits, juices, pasta, pasta sauces, canned tomato products, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, rice, macaroni & cheese, boxed meals, cereals, oatmeal, soups and broths.

Non-food items are also needed: laundry soaps, bath soap, shampoos, toothpastes and toothbrushes, deodorants and razors, toilet paper, paper towels and pet food.

Cerveny says they are expanding the pantry area to provide more space to display what is available.
