Enjoy a night with Tony Starlight at the Liberty Theater

The Tony Starlight Show is coming back to Old Liberty Theater in Ridgefield at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22.  The Starlight Music and Comedy show is described as a love letter to the bygone days of live stage entertainment. On June 22, Tony will be performing his unique tribute to Dean Martin. The “TS” Show often includes special guest stars.  

Tickets are $25 and purchasable at the door or on the phone at (360) 887-7260. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and all ages are welcome.

This is a test: all HAM Radio lovers need to turn out

The Clark County Amateur Radio Club is hosting its annual Field Day on Saturday, June 22. The public is invited to come out and see what Amateur Radio is about from noon to 4 p.m. in front of SEH America at 3900 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver.

Field Day is a North American exercise where amateur HAM radio clubs and licensed individuals set up their equipment off the grid to simulate and emergency situation. This prepares HAM radio operators with the skills they need should an actual emergency situation arise. 

Take a date to the West with “Rio Bravo” or catch a cult classic 

Kiggins Theatre is showing the John Wayne and Dean Martin classic “Rio Bravo” on Sunday, June 23 for a continuation of their “Saddle Up Sundays.” In Rio Bravo, a small-town sheriff in the American West enlists the help of three unique locals to help him hold in jail the brother of the local bad guy. Admission is $10.

Kiggins theatre will also be showing Rocky Horror Picture Show at 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. Admission to do the Time Warp is $10 dollars. 



Battle Ground to host free Summer Playground Program

The end of the school year is here and the Battle Ground’s free Summer Playground program is near. The free program is designed for kids 4 to 12 and brings fun summer activities to different parks in Battle Ground every Wednesday and Thursday of summer. Sessions begin on Wednesday, June 26 and each week has a different theme. There is no need to register.

Wednesdays

10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kiwanis Park (422 SW 2nd Avenue) and 2 – 4 p.m. at the Community Center at Fairgrounds Park (912 E Main St.).

Thursdays

10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Florence Robinson Park (1900 NW 9th St.) and 2 – 4 p.m. at the Community Center at Fairgrounds Park (912 E Main St.).

Battle Ground alum to perform at new event center

Karen Johnson Miller, a Battle Ground alum and singer/artist, is hosting a Community Appreciation Night from 6–10 p.m., Friday, June 28 at the new event center “The Black Pearl on The Columbia,” located at 56 S 1st St., Washougal. The event is free to attend and Brent Rogers as well as Karen Johnson Miller (KJ Miller) will be performing.
