Notebooks, backpacks, graphing and technical calculators, socks, reams of computer paper, blank CD and other school-related items are being sought for low-income students.

The Woodland Action Center’s supply drive will continue through Wed., Aug. 13. Items can be dropped off at the center, 736 Davidson Ave., Woodland, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Volunteers are needed to help organize and distribute supplies on Tue., Aug. 19, and Thu., Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the center.

Shopping lists are available at the center and can be emailed to donors by contacting the center at (360) 225-9998 or emailing Andreas@gastfamily.net or Smcadams@teleport.com.

The goal of the drive is to provide easy access to supplies to ensure students have the basic tools and resources to thrive in their education. It will also alleviate some of the many other school-related expenses which can be a financial burden to low-income families, according to a news release from the center.
